Pastor Vaughn joined our staff as senior pastor in May of 2021. Richard has been married to his wife, Virginia, since August of 1974. They grew up together in their home church, First Baptist Church of New Castle Delaware. God has blessed them with three children and 11 grandchildren.

Pastor Richard has a passion to reach out to people in our community and to welcome them into our church. He desires for people from all walks of life come to know God through a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He also desires to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus and in their knowledge of the Bible, in order that they will become life-long followers of Jesus. 

He believes that following Jesus offers the way to the most satisfying life possible. And this is the life that he wants the faith community of Mount Joy Church of God to experience!

Adam joined our staff in 2023 after serving various churches in a variety of volunteer roles. In his role as Director of Family Ministries, Adam oversees the Youth Group, Children's Ministries, Small Groups, and Special Events.

Adam grew up outside of Mount Joy, but now lives in Elizabethtown. He has been married to his wife, Laura, for 20 years. They have two children, Kandice and DJ. Adam has a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Christian Leaders College and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Lock Haven University. He is an Ordained Pastor through the Christian Leaders Alliance.  

Adam is passionate about serving the next generation and growing relationships through small groups. One of his favorite verses is 2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” His goal is to help everyone take the next step in their faith, so they can finish their own race strong.
